Dear Clients, Friends, and Colleagues,
As we turn the page on another eventful quarter, I’m delighted to share our latest updates from Arete Wealth Strategists Australia. The past three months have offered a vivid reminder of the resilience and dynamism of global markets. US equities, which started the quarter flirting with their yearly lows, staged an impressive rally—culminating in new all-time highs by quarter’s end. This resurgence was buoyed by robust corporate earnings, renewed optimism around AI-driven innovation, and a temporary reprieve from tariffs announced by the Trump administration—providing a welcome tailwind for global trade and investor sentiment alike.
On the economic front, inflationary pressures have continued to moderate, and central banks are signaling a more measured approach to future rate hikes. These developments have offered a measure of stability to both equity and fixed income markets, even as geopolitical uncertainties linger in the background.
CA - 2025- July 2025 Second Quarter Investment Report
I’m thrilled to report significant progress on our strategic front. We are nearing a ‘heads of agreement’ with a respected Australian Financial Services License (AFSL) holder. Once finalized, this will position our combined entity as the only financial advisory firm uniquely equipped to serve clients seamlessly across both the US and Australia—a true milestone for our cross-border clients.
Equally exciting, our firm has surpassed $100 million USD in assets under management this quarter, and our pending SEC registration is well underway. This achievement not only marks a new chapter in our growth but also underscores our unwavering commitment to serving you with the highest standards of fiduciary excellence.
I’d also like to recognize Nicole Molson, who is excelling in her role as Client Services Associate—her dedication and attention to detail have been invaluable. We also send our warmest wishes to Katelyn Meuse’s newest addition, Benjamin who first entered the world on April 22nd.
On a personal note, the Murphy family continues to settle into life Down Under. We are eagerly anticipating closing on our new home shortly after returning from our US summer holiday—a significant step in making Australia our new base.My own adventures this quarter have been memorable, if a bit bruising! I had the privilege of competing in the Tour de Brisbane, where I qualified for the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships in Lorne, VIC this October—despite a slide-out on a wet corner that left me with a broken rib. Not to be outdone, the Oregon Trail Gravel Grinder provided a true ‘bucket list’ experience; a fully supported 5 day, 100km average per day gravel/camping experience. It came with its own mishap when an errant branch sent me tumbling and added another rib to the tally.
Through it all, I’m reminded that resilience—whether in markets, business, or personal pursuits—is built one challenge at a time. Thank you for your continued trust and partnership. We look forward to guiding you through the opportunities and adventures that lie ahead.
Thank you for your partnership with Areté Wealth Strategists.
Warm regards,
